What is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)?

Our tailored Banker to Broker and Broker Support pathways are designed to recognise what you already know, so you can focus on what’s next.

Can I transfer to Brokerversity?

In some cases we can offer Credit Transfer of your completed Unit of Competencies. Please contact hello@brokerversity.com.au for more information.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Book a call with one of our dedicated trainers to discuss your industry experience. They’ll determine whether you’re suitable for an RPL pathway and explain the evidence you’ll need to provide. Once your evidence has been assessed, any units that cannot be recognised through RPL will be completed through the course.

Is the Certificate IV the right fit?

The FNS40821 Certificate IV is a great starting point! Keep in mind, many aggregators, industry bodies and lenders require brokers to complete the FNS50322 Diploma of Finance and Mortgage Broking Management within 12 months of commencing their broking career.

Is there a minimum time in the industry to qualify for RPL?

Not necessarily. RPL is based on your existing skills, knowledge and industry experience, not simply the amount of time you’ve spent in the industry.

To be eligible for RPL, you’ll generally need experience in a customer-facing lending role within the banking or mortgage broking industry, where you’ve been actively involved in the lending process.

While every application is assessed individually, learners with around six months or more of relevant lending experience are often well suited to an RPL pathway, provided they can supply sufficient evidence of their skills and experience.

If you’re unsure whether you qualify, book a call with one of our trainers. They’ll discuss your experience and recommend the pathway that’s right for you.
